Our school was opened in September 1991.

Here is the entrance, for visitors, staff and enquiries.

We are very lucky to have wonderful school grounds.

We have a large field which is used for the teaching of P.E. in dry weather and also becomes an extension to our playground during breaktime and lunch.

Sports Day on the field.

A game of Year 2 football.

In our playground we have benches and games to play in our soft bark area. We also have an outside classroom!!

Every year group has their own box of playtime activities to take outside on Tuesday and Thursday. We call these days 'Box Days'.

In our school grounds we have a moat area - we like to visit here to learn about the outside classroom as often as we can.

This is our Reception Unit. We have recently developed the Reception play area to include a stage, a permanent sand pit and a larger space for outside play.

The main building of our school is a square, with a courtyard in the middle. The courtyard is a special shared area. Year 6 have the privilege of eating their lunch here on warm days. Children in Red Area use this space for construction, water play, using the sand  etc. Gardening club make our courtyard even more attractive by planting beautiful plants in pots and in beds and growing vegetables such as tomatoes. The beautiful seat in the middle of our courtyard was made by the sculptor Gordon Dickinson. This sculpture was made using the ideas from children at our school. The figures at the top represent how pupils work together and form close friendships.

Our school is colour coded by age and stage:

  • Red Area - Key Stage 1
  • Blue Area - Years 3 and 4
  • Green Area - Years 5 and 6

Our new Reception unit is an 'extension' of Key Stage 1 and is colour coded accordingly.

This is Red Area, in this photograph you can see the shared area and one (classroom) homebase.

This is a picture of a Blue Area homebase.

We have an ICT suite with 15 computers, there are also banks of computers in the shared areas around school.  Our whole school is networked and so children can access and save their work easily. Every classroom has an interactive whiteboard, these are used daily to enhance lessons and are a powerful teaching tool

We have a hall where we gather for assemblies and celebrations. We have a stage which we use for our productions and also weekly when we have our sharing assembly every Friday. Each class has an opportunity to share their work and choose our 'Music of the Week'.

Our hall is also used for P.E. We have large apparatus equipment which is used in some lessons.

We eat our dinner in the hall.

This is our book resource in Red Area. It is sometimes used as a quiet space for reading or sometimes whole classes share a book here.  Homebases have their own bookcases with a range of books from different genres. We also have a well stocked library.

We are fortunate to have a kiln and clay work is regularly made and fired!

We have a superb food activities room. Parental help allows small groups to cook here from across the school.
