We hope you enjoy visiting our fantastic school website, please leave a comment in our guestbook before you leave! ******Don't forget about tonight's Internet Safety meeting for Key Stage 2 parents. 7;00pm start******

Through topic work children are encouraged to design in order to solve practical problems, make their model and evaluate it's success.

We are richly resourced with construction apparatus throughout the school whilst encouraging the use of original materials.

Reception made wonderful puppets

Reception all had a chance to make Easter baskets. They needed to give the mixture a good stir!

Puppets are made in Red Area as part of our Fairytales topic.

Moving toys are designed and made as part of Red Area's minibeast topic.

Moving pictures are made during our Scotland topic in Red Area - this picture is the story book character 'Katie Morag' using a slider mechanism.

In our superb purpose built food activites room, every child has the opportunity to cook under adult supervision.

Year 3 and Year 4 designed and made their own moving monsters using pneumatics.

Year 3 and Year 4 worked in groups to make their own moving books.

To do this they had to read books that had moving parts and work out how they worked, then they have lots of practise experimenting with the different methods to make something move on a page, such as pop ups, pivots and pull strips.

These moving toys using cams were made by Year 5 and Year 6.

They then chose a story, divided it by the number of children in their group, then designed and made their own page.

This torch was made by a Blue Area pupil.

As part of their project on shelters Year 5 and 6 made wonderful shelters by working in teams but first had to practise constructing them!

In D.T. we always look at existing products, think about our specification, plan, design and evaluate.

At last a finished shelter!
